Early Childhood Development and Mental Health

Early life experiences shape the developing brain’s architecture and the foundations of sound mental health. Disruptions to this developmental process can impair a child’s capacity for learning and how they relate to others — with lifelong implications. This training will discuss how improving children’s environment, relationships, and experiences early in life can positively impact many costly societal problems, including incarceration, homelessness, and the failure to complete high school.
